I don’t do mock drafts and those types of things. I respect what scouts do. They have a really, tough job. I watch the Patriots and have a decent feel for what they like: size matters and so do intelligence and versatility. Due to recent events, they tend to avoid troublemakers. They also like production over potential and look for specific scheme fits. And if you see the team linked to a player in the media, almost 100 percent chance the team itself leaked it to throw off another team and create a false narrative. Remember Bill Belichick is a protégé of Bill Parcells who famously said, “We are in the information collection business not information providing business.” In other words, don’t trust what you hear this time of year. My general thoughts on the draft as well as the Pats weekend.
